Professional Malpractice Cases
Professional malpractice is the term for the negligence of an attorney, accountant, or another non-medical professional who fails to provide services in accordance with acceptable standards of practice in that particular profession. For example, an attorney may be liable for damages for legal malpractice due to the failure to file a lawsuit before the statute of limitations expires, or if the attorney misses a deadline resulting in the dismissal of a client’s case. In order to prevail on a claim of professional malpractice, you must be able to prove that you sustained an economic loss that would not have occurred in the absence of such professional negligence.
